At Chingford Masonic Hall, London E4 on 18th April, London’s premiere ‘Bikers’ Lodge received a visit from VW Bro Tony Shepherd, Assistant Metropolitan Grand Master, accompanied by W Bro Michael Aminzade, Metropolitan Grand Inspector, for the Installation of Bro Krishna Chauhan, with the ceremony being conducted by his father!
It is always a joy to witness the emotion and sincerity of a proud father installing one of his sons into the Chair of King Solomon. W Bro Michael then had the pleasure of presenting W Bro John Stew with a Long Service Certificate to mark 50 wonderful years in the Craft and four Master Masons with their Grand Lodge Certificates.
VW Bro Tony was Escorted by W Bro Neil Agathangelo, Deputy Metropolitan Grand Sword Bearer, and W Bros Matthew Panton and Ian Graham, Metropolitan Grand Stewards.
On 18th July Coborn Lodge met again for a double Initiation, with over 80 hungry members and guests then tucking into their traditional ‘very full English fry up’ for lunch!
Chingford Masonic Association holds an annual Widows Christmas Lunch, held within the Chingford Masonic Hall, aiming to host the widows, and a chaperone, of the Metropolitan and Essex Lodges and chapters who meet at Chingford. In recent years, the Brethren of Coborn have made an annual and significant financial donation towards the Widows Christmas Lunch.
On Sunday 12th July, a dozen or so members of Coborn Lodge and its associated Widows Sons motorcycle Chapter turned up at the Theydon Bois Donkey Derby (out at the Eastern end of the Central Line) to make a significant volunteering contribution to the annual family fundraising event, which traditionally draws a crowd of 6 – 7,000 every year. Proceeds from the event support local Scout, Brownie and Cadet organisations.
